The TCM Preventative Treatment Center was established in 2010 as a key discipline of the hospital. After more than ten years of efforts, it has become a demonstration pilot unit for the Guangdong Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine Health Project, an advanced unit for sub-health academic activities in Guangdong, an advanced unit for health education in Shenzhen, and a training base for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) preventive medicine and appropriate TCM techniques in Shenzhen. It is also a sleep assessment service base for the “Hundred Cities, One Million Sleep Health Big Data Public Welfare Initiative” and a clinical research base for the Sino-US Sleep Health Project, integrating teaching, research, and offering specialized services in integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment, prevention and health maintenance, and health management.

The center is the Chair of the Shenzhen Acupuncture Association’s Preventive Medicine Committee. It also has one vice-chair of the Guangdong Provincial TCM Association’s External Treatment Methods Committee, one chair of the Shenzhen Acupuncture Association’s Preventive Medicine Committee, and one vice-chair of the Shenzhen TCM Tuina Quality Control Center. Additionally, it holds key positions in various acupuncture and pain management associations.
